Local History

The library houses a collection of over 1000 works on local history relating mainly, though not exclusively, to Ulster. This collection also contains extensive or complete series runs of journals such as the Breifne Journal, Clogher Record, the County Louth Archaeological & Historical Journal, Dúiche Néill, and Seanchais Ard Mhacha. There are also a number of important works such as statistical survey and the Ordnance survey memoirs alongside occasional copies of valuations and reports from a number of local districts. One key aspect of the local history collection unique to the archive is the collection of parish schedules which form part of the local as well as the ecclesiastical history of the archdiocese.
